NOTHING HERE IS MASS PRODUCED
"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." CECIL BEATON
BUY LESS, MAKE IT SPECIAL..... Clothing is an integral part of a human existence, part of who we are, our community, our agency, our expression of self...I practice a non wasteful and meaningful way of making what we wear
Marilupa is a new project using my 20 years technical experience making lingerie and swimwear to combine with my treasure trove of collected materials for a sheer indulgence into beautiful and non standardised intimate clothing to wear for your wildness and your every pleasure. The world is drowning in a sea of over production and it's hard for me to justify making anything more BUT...I do feel passionately about the special and the handmade. I only make what is wanted on an individual basis to keep it real, keep it human and make it precious. There is nothing I enjoy more than creating wonderful and exciting wearable treasure.
From hand dying silks and components to get imagined wonderland seaweed colours, finishing in crystals and freshwater pearls to developing design for fuller figures and large cup sizes my work is about celebrating the beauty and diversity of the female body
Marilupa mixes modern high performance lingerie and swim fabrics with hand dyed silks, antique laces, vintage jewellery and precious stones to create garments that are for unashamed, joyful and luxurious pleasure
Marilupa is about a non wasteful and sustainable working practice, about inclusivity, about design balance. I want to promote a female business model where everyone from worker to wearer is engaged, interested and nurtured.
We tailor make each garment individually in house so we can talk with you about any special wants or requirements, size adjustments, custom or bespoke orders, colour changes or anything at all that you could want to be made to exist
all yours, Rachel Kenyon
